FOREST, Va. -

Rustburg needed wins in two of its final three games to be guaranteed a playoff spot.  The Red Devils were at Jefferson Forest this week for a battle of two teams that are among 6 in the Seminole District that have postseason aspirations.

In the fourth, the Red Devils are up 21 to 7 and they didn't let up.

Anthony Lovelace  went to the air for Brent Thacker.  It was a 40 yard connection for the Red Devils and the rout was on at 28-7.

On the next possession, Rustburg's Nic Tweedy took the handoff and went on a 61 yard run.  Tweedy was showing off some fleet feet.  He finally got taken down at the five yard line.  But that only delayed the inevitable.

Lovelace went in on the quarterback keeper to make it 35-7.

The Rustburg defense shut it down from there and the Red Devils whipped Jefferson Forest winning by 28.
