MONETA, Va. -

Staunton River missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 2008, and for the first time since Chuck Poston took over as Head Coach in 2010. In hopes to get back to the post season this year, one of the big changes the Golden Eagles are making is shifting to the single wing.

"We made the decision after last year that we wanted to do something different and something that still fit our philosophy of running the football," said Poston.  "We studied it and researched it in the offseason. We really feel good about the change."

Even though Staunton River lost 24 seniors off last year's team, the Eagles have a solid group this season to run their new offense, which continues to be a work in progress. Two things working in their favor though, is their athleticism and quickness.
