Pittsylvania County bragging rights were on the line this week in Ringgold where the Tunstall Trojans took on a Dogwood District foe for the second straight week, hoping for a better result against Dan River than they got against Gretna.

Dan River was fresh off a big win over Magna Vista last week and hoping for two in a row over the Piedmont.

Being tested on third down early-- Christopher Buckner hit Peyton Farrior for the first down to move the sticks. Then Jordan Sollenberger for Tunstall stepped up and knocked back the field goal and that put the Trojans up 3-0.

Tunstall tried to add to it, but Jarvis Brown rushed in and dropped Buckner on the sack.

The Wildcats then buckled down. Malik Andrews Harvey got the carry and got good yardage into Trojan territory.* But they turned it over on downs allowing Tunstall to capitalize in the second quarter. Malik Johnson punched it in from two yards out to give the Trojans a 10-0 lead in the second.

And Tunstall went on to beat Dan River 17 to 14.
