Brenden Motley spent the week on top of the Virginia Tech depth chart. He spent all week with the first unit in practice, but struggled to find a rhythm in Saturday's scrimmage.
The same can be said for other Quarterbacks Mark Leal and Andrew Ford. Leal who spent most of the spring with the first unit was 6/17, 50 yards, TD and four sacks.
"I thought today was 100-percent lack of focus," said Offensive Coordinator Scot Loeffler. "Intensity was terrible and I was really disappointed in how we battled and competed on the field."
The same could not be said for the defense who ran at full speed and attacked all the QB's who were live in the scrimmage.
"I thought we've improved," said Defensive Coordinator Bud Foster. "This past week I really saw an improvement with some of the younger kids and at some positions too.
Luther Maddy was all over the field and contributed multiple sacks as the defense took down Hokie Quarterbacks six times.
Tech will wrap up its spring season Saturday with the annual spring game.
