BLACKSBURG, Va. -

The Hokies open the month of November with perhaps their biggest mental challenge of the season, putting the Duke loss in the rear view mirror and getting ready for the stretch run which starts Saturday against a Boston College team that always seems to give Tech fits.

“We're an extremely mentally tough team,” said Logan Thomas. “That's who we are and that's how we are made.”

Frank Beamer added, “Now it's get on and it's how you react to these things.  Disappointment is going to happen to all of us.”

This much is clear.  The tech offense has to be better, and that can be as simple as not turning the ball over and making field goals.

“I don't think there's any one thing you can pin point,” added Thomas. “This past weekend we had a touchdown but it was called back and we threw an interception.”

The BC game is the first of three out of four on the road to finish the season.
