The Imperial Quarterback Club Golf Tournament
This event took place Saturday at the Rio Bend Golf Resort in Seeley. Forty-eight golfers hit the links for a shot at the prize money, but it was the team of Russell Allen, Todd Williams and Mike Castro that won the day. John Espinoza, Randy Smith and Jesse Sanchez took second place, and Arden McEachern, Doug Dyson and Glen Venus took third.
Ida Din won the women’s longest drive prize, while Quentin Tucker won the men’s. Mike Castro won the men’s closest-to-the-pin prize.
There were numerous raffle prizes awarded and gifts given away by local merchants. Jerry Armstrong’s smoked beef brisket and Imperial Tiger chili were enjoyed by all.
The 11th annual Norm Lassey Golf Classic
Held at the Del Rio Country Club course in Brawley, the Classic showcased a lot of good golf as well.
The duo of Mike McKinley and Brian Scmidt won first place gross, while Scott Emanuelli and Darren Smith finished second.
Mark Clayton and Robert Trimm won first place net, and Ronnie Bonillas and Bobby Torres took second. The winner of the helicopter ball drop was Jeff Klicka.
The event organizers would like to extend their gratitude to the sponsors, players, and volunteers who lent their time and support to this tournament.
