CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- -

Virginia coach Mike London says the process of rebuilding the Cavaliers football program is going "painstakingly slow," but he's the right man to lead it.

The coach, who in his fourth season, has received a vote of confidence from athletic director Craig Littlepage. The AD says an overhaul of the coaching staff that brought in three new coordinators and an associate head coach for offense needs to be given time to take hold.

The Cavaliers (2-5, 0-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) lost eight of their last 10 last year, and one of their victories this season came against FCS-level VMI.

London says, "I believe I am the right man for the job," and says he feels the process of rebuilding "will be successful."

Virginia hosts Georgia Tech (4-3, 3-2) on Saturday.
