UVA, Virginia Tech athletes competing at London Olympics

Several athletes from the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech are competing at the Summer Olympics in London.

From Virginia Tech, two athletes are scheduled to compete. Marcel Lomnicky will go for gold in the hammer throw, and Katarina Filova will swim in the 100-meter and 200-meter freestyle. They both are representing Slovakia.

From the UVA, there are 13 athletes competing. Four of them are competing in men's swimming.
