The Virginia Tech Bass Fishing Team was formed in 2007.

The tournament was held in effort of bringing the community together, catching up with alumni and raising money for the team.

Registration started at 5 a.m. at Parkway Marina at Smith Mountain Lake.

The tournament was $100 and an optional $20 big fish side pot.

Exclusive t-shirts were sold for $10 and a raffle was giving away great prizes!

Twenty-eight teams signed up and more than fifty people were ready to put their fishing skills to the test.

The winning fish had to be large or small mouth bass and at least fourteen-inches long to weigh in.

The Virginia Tech Bass Fishing Team raised approximately $1000.

Congratulations to Ben and Brandon Reynolds who took home 1st place with 15.26 pounds
