A Pulaski County man is the first person to hunt and kill a turkey in every state.
Daniel Rorrer has killed 49 turkeys in 49 states. Alaska doesn't have turkeys.
Rorrer says it took him about 10 years. He's registered every turkey with the National Turkey Wildlife Federation, and Rorrer says he is the first person to ever accomplish the task.
This weekend, several of Rorrer's hunting buddies from around the country and NTWF officials attended a banquet in honor of his accomplishment.
"It takes a lot of planning, a lot of research, of course a lot of money, but we've really been blessed to do these things, and it's something that you just never forget," Rorrer said.
Rorrer's first turkey was killed in Virginia. His 49th turkey was shot in May in Rhode Island.
Rorrer says now he's helping one of his friends accomplish the same task: 49 turkeys in 49 states.
