LAWRENCEBURG, Indiana—
The Virginia Tech fishing team, made up of Andrew Jackson and Patrick Snellings, won the National Guard FLW College Fishing Northern Conference event in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on Sunday.
Jackson and Snellings were last-minute entries. The duo reeled in five bass weighing 7 pounds, 4 ounces.
Jackson and Snellings take home $5,000.
The win qualifies the duo for the Northern Conference Championship, which will be held on Philpott Lake in Henry County on Sept. 15-16.
Ryan McCarthy and Steven Jarells finished fifth in the Indiana event.
