MARTINSVILLE, Va. -

“The King” is coming to Martinsville. Richard Petty and Dale Inman will serve as the Grand Marshals for the NASCAR race on March 30 at Martinsville Speedway.

“We are so honored to have two of our sport’s greatest legends to be the Grand Marshals for the STP 500,” Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell wrote in a news release. “When I look at what Richard and Dale did together, I’m just amazed. The two of them set records that will never be broken.”

Petty and Inman combined for the most wins of any driver-crew chief team in NASCAR history. They won 15 races together at Martinsville Speedway.

“Richard and Dale were practically unbeatable here for a lot of years,” said Campbell. “They had Martinsville figured out like no one else at the time. It was the closest track to their home, so it meant a lot for them to win here, too.”
