SALEM, Va. -

The clock is ticking down until the teams take the field in the Division III championship game.

And, since the teams are set, the crews are making sure everything's in place at Salem Stadium for Friday night's Stagg Bowl.

On Wednesday NCAA officials did a walk through while helmets representing Wisconsin Whitewater and Mount Union were placed on the scoreboard.

Even though, the teams aren't from this region, excitement is building.

“Division III sports in general, it's all about the student athlete and the experience that they do receive,” Duey Naatz, NCAA Committee Chair said. “None of these kids are on scholarship, they're here because they love the sport and I think that's a lot of why the people who are in division 3 love it is just for the sport itself and the game.”

Last year more than 5,000 visitors came to Salem for the big game.
