BLACKSBURG, Va. -

Virginia Tech and Ohio State have agreed to move their 2015 game in Blacksburg to Labor Day, the schools announced Wednesday.

The game, which was originally scheduled for Sept. 26, will be moved to Sept. 7 and be televised nationally by ESPN. Virginia Tech will play at Ohio State on Sept. 20, 2014, in Columbus, Ohio.

To change the date, Virginia Tech had to move two other games in 2015. The Hokies’ home game against Furman has moved from Sept. 19 to Sept. 12, and Virginia Tech’s game at East Carolina has moved from Sept. 12 to Sept. 1.

Virginia Tech has played two games on Labor Day recently. Last year Virginia Tech opened its season on Labor Day night, beating Georgia Tech in overtime. In 2010, the Hokies lost to Boise State at FedEx Field.
