The VMI football team rebounded from its season-opening loss to Richmond by defeating Glenville State 34-27. The Keydets scored on their opening drive and took a 21-7 lead into the break.  The Pioneers stuck around and had a chance to win it in the closing seconds, but VMI came-up with a goal line stand to preserve their lead, earning them their first win of the season.

Senior Quarterback, Eric Kordenbrock, was 23-30 for 314 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Keydets were led by Derrick Ziglar on the ground with 109 yards on 13 carries, while Mario Thompson pulled-in 5 catches to lead VMI with 74 yards receiving.

VMI (1-1) will host North Greenville next Saturday at 1:30.
