Brookville and James Monroe met Saturday for the Double A, Division 3 title.

It was a rematch of the 2008 title game, which Monroe won.

Korren Kirven sat this one out with a broken ankle.

Brookville up 17-0 after the first Quarter. In the second quarter, Mark Boyd's 89-yard kickoff return pushed the Bees' lead to 24-7.

The Yellow Jackets cut it to 24-20 at the half and then Demontaz Brown hit Kasine Conway for the 33 yard touchdown pass to give James Monroe its first lead of the game 26-24, early in the third quarter.

Brookville down 33-24 but they kept pushing. Kendall Becraft threw a slant to Boyd, for a 55 yard touchdown. Bees now within 2, down 33-31 in third quarter.

Same score late 4th quarter, Ethan Preston fumbled the pitch, and it's recovered by Brookville's Tyler Burford.

And this is the play of the game for sure. 4th and 9 for the Bees, Becraft to Guy Morris, who makes the great catch on the sideline for the first down. A 15 yard catch to the 19 yard line. That set up a 28 yard field goal by Alan Gutierrez and he nails it. That puts Brookville up 34-33 with 35 seconds left and that is your final. Brookville wins its second state title in school history.
"This is so big," said Brookville quarterback Kendall Becraft. "We worked so hard way back in January and it's finally here. We finally did it. It's just the best feeling ever."

 "In 2011, Brookville High School fielded the best team in the hhistory of the high school. Congratulations. There might have been better football teams, but those better football teams had a loss under their belt. This one went straight 14 wins, no losses and I'm proud of them," said Brookville coach Jeff Woody.
