Christiansburg has now been on top for a full decade. The Blue Demons won their 10th straight 'AA' state wrestling title Saturday night blowing by the competition, beating a talented second place Grundy team by 125 points and third place Brookville by 145 points.
As for the individual awards, in class 'AA' Christiansburg had seven first place finishers. Kyle Dulaney, JR Wert, Joey Dance, Logan Bosley, Zach Epperly, Rich Eva and Marquis Porterfield all represented the Blue Demons in the winner's circle.
Salem's Jake Semones took home first place in the 215 pound division.
Moving on to the single 'A' ranks. Manassas Park took home the state title, but Floyd County finished a close second while James River and Parry McCluer placed fifth and sixth respectively.
Floyd had three first place finishers in Dale Conner, Jesse Redford and Eric McDaniel.
Parry McCluer's 103 pounder Kainan Clark notched an individual title, and James River got a champion by the name of Jonny Falls in the 152 pound division.
Again, a historic night for the Christiansburg wrestling team and a very good outing by a number of other schools.
