Now that the college football season is over for the Hokies, attention now turns to recruiting. Tech will have two commits participate in this weekend's Army All American Bowl in Wyatt Teller and Kendall Fuller.
Rivals.com recruiting analyst Mike Farrell is in San Antonio for the game and says the Hokies are doing fine on the recruiting trail.
“Their fans want them to go more south,” Rivals.com recruiting analyst Mike Farrell said. “They want them to get into Florida and Georgia and I think they've done that a little bit this year, less so Florida but more reaching south and they've done a great job in state as well. They've started to hit areas like Richmond where they weren't particularly strong in the beginning, and Maryland. Kendall Fuller, the number one cornerback in the country, obviously his two brothers play at Virginia Tech, his oldest brother Vincent played at Virginia Tech, so there's a legacy there, but every school in the country wanted him and tried to pull him away and they weren't able to. They've done a tremendous job hitting the in-state targets and going into Maryland and are starting to creep a little more south and when they do that, that's when their recruiting rankings will rise because there are more kids highly rated down south than any place else.”
