Shayne Graham won a State Championship as the kicker on the 1992 Pulaski County Cougars. He was the kicker on the Virginia Tech team that played for the National Title. Shayne then went on to the NFL where he has found success with a couple of teams. Since the NFL locked out its players earlier this year, Graham like the rest of the league has had to find places and times to work out all on their own.
Graham has spent most of his time at home in the New River Valley and has been kicking at Radford University as well as working out with a trainer at Foley Performance in Christiansburg. This all in preparation for whenever the lockout does end, Shayne will be a free agent. The New England Patriots, who Graham finished last season with, will have the first chance to sign him. If they don't want to bring him back Shayne will look for another team. He still has the drive to compete at the highest level of football.
This is the first of a three part series. We will also check in with John Phillips and Danny Aiken.
