Hokies Lose J.T. Thompson for Second Straight Season
The Virginia Tech men's basketball team has been bitten by the injury bug again this preseason and Coach Seth Greenberg has to wonder if his team is cursed, with the news that forward JT Thompson tore his ACL Wednesday night in practice.
Last year, Thompson blew out his left knee, and was rounding back in to form after a vigorous rehab.  But now he's torn the same ligament in his right knee and will have season ending surgery.  JT is eligible to apply for a hardship 6th year with the NCAA.  He appeared in 34 games in 2009-2010 averaging 7 points and 5 rebounds a game.
