Every year the Roanoke Valley Horse Show attracts owners and stables from all over. But few come from as far away as New Hampshire.
Cater Stables, run by David and Kristen Cater, is one of the larger outfits at this year's show.
"We like to travel to be able to show against different people in the area," owner and trainer Kristen Cater said. "We get to compete against people down here during the Bonnie Blue National Show in Lexington in May, and then also during the Raleigh Spring Premier in March."
They brought fifteen different horses in their caravan down the east coast, with fifteen different riders as well.
"We have to get our numbers pretty early on to plan when we're traveling this far and make sure that we can get everybody to the show that needs and wants to go."
Cater says this is the last time they will come south for the year. The next shows will be farther west in places like Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky.
