HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) -- James Madison coach Matt Brady has suspended scoring and rebounding leader Rayshawn Goins for the first half of the Dukes' NCAA tournament game after Goins was arrested over the weekend.
The school says the suspension for the First Four game against LIU Brooklyn on Wednesday night is in accordance with JMU policy.
Harrisonburg police say Goins was arrested Sunday on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing justice. Police say they were called to break up a party early Sunday morning and Goins was shouting obscenities at them and "enticing the crowd" before leaving with acquaintances.
Police say they did not arrest him immediately for fear the crowd would "turn riotous."
Goins averages 12.7 points and 7.4 rebounds.
JMU is making its first NCAA tournament appearance since 1994.

James Madison’s leading scorer and rebounder, Rayshawn Goins, was reportedly arrested Sunday night in Harrisonburg.
As first reported by the Mark Selig of the Harrisonburg Daily News-Record, Goins has been charged with obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct. He was reportedly released on his own recognizance on $2,500 unsecured bond.
The Dukes are making their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1994. They play LIU Brooklyn on Wednesday in Dayton, Ohio.
Goins averaged 12.7 points per game, and 7.4 rebounds per game this season.
JMU found out it was heading to Dayton on Sunday night when the NCAA released its brackets. The Dukes qualified for the tournament by beating Northeastern in the CAA championship game. Goins is a 6-foot-6, 265-pound redshirt senior from Cleveland.
