Sampras says the chance to play McEnroe again was a deciding factor. McEnroe says he doesn't see Sampras often and enjoys the opportunity to catch up with him.

Both players were ranked No. 1 on the ATP World Tour, with Sampras dominating in the 1990s and McEnroe in the 1980s.

Sampras won 14 Grand Slam singles championships. McEnroe captured four U.S. Open singles titles and three at Wimbledon.

Greenbrier President Jeff Kmiec says the clay-court match fits the resort's vision of offering world-class entertainment. Tickets are $50.
