Kickoff time announced for Virginia Tech-Alabama season-opener

ATLANTA, Ga.—

Kickoff time for Virginia Tech’s season-opener against defending national champion Alabama has been announced.

The game will start at 5:30 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. The Hokies take on the Crimson Tide Aug. 31 in Atlanta.

Virginia Tech and Alabama played in 2009 in Atlanta, with the Crimson Tide rallying for a 34-24 win.

Considering the Hokies staff salary was $ 4.39 million in 2012 and Sabans salary alone was about $ 5.3 million it's hardly apples to apples.

Obviously the Crimson Tide has more money to spend on players both above the table and under the table.
