More than two miles of roads are being built at Martinsville Speedway, but they won’t be used for the race cars.

The construction project is meant to organize parking at the speedway by installing gravel roads in each of the parking fields.

When construction is completed, more cars will be able to park in the assigned lots with less confusion about where to find a spot.

“It's going to be a big improvement. I think the fans are really going to like it. It's going to help them get in, get out, get parked much easier than what we've had in the past,” track president Clay Campbell said.

This also makes the physical job of showing ran fans exactly where to park easier to carry out.

Construction is set to end in time for the races in April.
