Kevin Harvick is in a bit of a hole as NASCAR's Chase approaches Dover this weekend.  Earlier this week we visited with Richard Childress Racing to gauge expectations for all of the RCR drivers as the season heads down the stretch.

Kevin Harvick is the only RCR driver in the Chase for the Cup, sitting 8th -- 31 points behind leader Jimmie Johnson. But with eight races still ahead of them, Childress says don't count them out yet.

"Well I can think back, we went to Charlotte one time 180 points or something ridiculous behind, with Dale Earnhardt and we came out and won the race. I mean won the championship. So you never give up until it's over," Richard Childress, Owner of Richard Childress Racing said. "We know we gotta do our work here. We gotta get our cars better. We gotta get them handling better, running better. But we got some really good plans in place and hopefully we can get them started sooner rather than later."

In addition to having three drivers competing in the Sprint Cup Series, RCR also has Elliott Sadler and Austin Dillon sitting first and third in the Nationwide Series, and Ty Dillon leading the Truck Series.

"We've had a great year. We've won a race in a rookie year and we're also leading the point in a rookie year which doesn't happen very often. We got six races to go and we got a lot of momentum going into Vegas this weekend," said Dillon, who leads the Truck Series standings.

Elliott Sadler leads the Nationwide Series standings. He said: "So far so good. We just gotta finish this thing off. It's definitely been a load of fun with the race team I have. I've got a great race team and very focused. We show up loaded for bare week in and week out and we gotta do that 6 more times so hopefully we can make it happen."

And for Childress, it's an exciting time, to see his grandsons-- Austin and Ty -- do so well in their rookie seasons in their respective series.

"It's really rewarding because I know how much they really want it. Everything they've ever did from playing baseball or football or soccer, they've always wanted to do good and win. I knew they were going to come into this once they wanted to come with a winning attitude," Childress said.
