The state high school basketball tournament rolled on Tuesday night in Richmond where the Bassett girls faced Courtland in the semifinals from the Siegel Center.

Andrea Venable did her part for the Bengals scoring 16 points and Bassett held an early lead.

But Jessica Hairston was too tough to handle.  The Cougars star tallied 24 points and 17 rebounds to lead Courtland past Bassett 64 to 53.

The Salem boys tangled with Potomac Falls in the night cap.  Troy Mann led the way for the Spartans with 26 big points and he got some help from Will Pratt who tossed in 15 as the Salem advanced to the final with a 76 to 69 win.
