Virginia native Bryn Renner threw three touchdown passes helping North Carolina beat Virginia 37 to 13 Thursday night at Scott Stadium, ending Virginia's hopes of becoming bowl eligible. Tre Boston returned a Mike Rocco interception for a score in the first half, but the game changed late in the third quarter when Kevin Parks was stopped on a 4th and 1 at the goal line. A touchdown would have tied the game at 20, but Carolina pulled away from there for the win.
