CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—
The college basketball season is just around the corner and Virginia senior guard Jontel Evans is expected to be out approximately six weeks after undergoing surgery on his right foot Tuesday.
Evans suffered foot pain during workouts with the men's basketball team last week, before being diagnosed with a stress fracture.
Evans started all 32 games last season as the Cavaliers reached the NCAA Tournament.
An ACC All-Defensive Team selection, he led the team with 124 assists and 50 steals, while averaging 7 points and 2 rebounds per game. The Cavs open the season November 9th against George Mason.
