It may not be what Virginia Tech Hokie fans want to hear as the worst season in 20 years of football, ends in what some say is an invite to a minor bowl.
As of Thursday, Virginia Tech says it's sold just under 3,000 tickets to the Russell Athletics Bowl game in Orlando, Florida, set for December 28. Virginia Tech will take on Rutgers.
The Hokies' last-second win in the regular season over the University of Virginia had fans screaming, and that win guaranteed the Hokies long bowl game streak would continue this year.
But at ESPN Blacksburg, radio listeners were talking about a disappointing season, and no real desire to travel to watch a lower tier bowl game.
