Spring is in the air, and many businesses are breathing in big bucks.

"When the sun shines and it's warm out, people think, 'Oh, it's time to get out there and get to work in the yard,'" says Jennifer Monroe with Greenbrier Nurseries in Roanoke County.

Busy season runs from early March through Mother's Day at the nursery.

"I think we will see a big early push, especially if it stays nice," says Monroe.

With many out there who don't want to do the digging, landscapers are reaping in business.

"You have the famine of the wintertime, then spring comes to the ground and you just have to do everything at once," says Joe Lanum with Prestige Acres Landscaping.

Outdoor restaurants like Fork in the Alley are also seeing green.

"This is the time of the year when we have the most potential to be busy, when people want to get out of their house," says Jon Saunders, a manager at the restaurant.

The restaurant says it goes from offering 16 tables to 26 after winter, just to accomodate the extra customers.
