Alberta Moeller, 86, of Redfield died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Redfield. Father Christopher Hughes will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.
Alberta was born Dec. 19, 1926, in Anselmo, Neb., to Kenneth and Esther (Condron) Einspahr. She grew up and graduated from high school in Anselmo. After her graduation, she moved with her family to Redfield.
Alberta married Laurens Moeller on May 3, 1946, in Ellendale, N.D. They farmed in the Zell, Athol and Redfield area until 1980. After they moved to Redfield, Alberta worked at Red Owl and did some baby-sitting.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, search-a-word and crocheting. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and, as a young lady, pitched on a boy’s baseball team.
Alberta is survived by her children: Mike (Isobel) Moeller of Clark, Linda (Gene) Dickson of Pierre, Ronald (Irene) Moeller of Lompoc, Calif., Barb Ryman of Rapid City, Beverly (Donald) Kalahar of Woodlawn, Ill., Dave (Marion) Moeller of Redfield and Bill Moeller of Redfield. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her four sisters: Leona Mason of Minneapolis, Minn., Della Fertig of Scottsbluff, Neb., Connie (Larry) Frost of Aberdeen and Joanne (Harold) Booze of Redfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laurens, in 2005; and one great-grandson, Justin Sayler.
