The first act at the South Dakota State Fair Aug. 29-30 will be the Red Wilk Construction Championship Bull Riding Inc. (CBR) Bull Bash and continuing on Thursday, Aug.30.
The CBR has kicked off the SD State Fair Grandstand lineup since 2005. Led by bullriding icon Tuff Hedeman, the CBR is a nationwide, professional bullriding organization. The CBR was created in Carthage, Texas in 2002. Over the last 10 years the CBR has grown in popularity, both in riders and in viewers.
Aug. 31 is the performance date for country legend Charley Pride and opener Williams and Ree.
Charley Pride has remained a Top 20 Top-Selling Country Artist for the last 30 years with hits like Kiss an Angel Good Morning , Every Heart Should Have One , and "All I Have to Offer You (Is Me)." Pride has toured the world from Canada to Fiji with his 36 number one hit singles and over 70 million albums sold. Through RCA records, he is second in sales only to Elvis Presley.
Opening for the legendary Charley Pride are country comedians Williams and Ree. The duo met in Spearfish, S.D., at Black Hills State University and have been packing casinos, clubs and arenas from Niagara Falls to Las Vegas for the last 40 years.
Williams and Ree have shared the stage with acts ranging from Tim McGraw to Robin Williams. The duo has a natural ability to bounce off each other and find humor in everyday life. They present a fast-paced show full of zings, mixed with pop culture trends and a few songs.
