Obituary: Cecil Preston

JUNCTION¿CITY — Cecil Preston, 76, of Lorah Lane, Junction City, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at his residence.  

Born Nov. 8, 1935, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Willis and Della Garland Preston. He retired from Whirlpool Corp. where he was a team member. He was the widower of Shirley Jean Pendygraft Preston. Cecil was a member of Parksville Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.

Survivors include four daughters, Debbie (Paul) Martin and Rosemary (Bo) Bottoms, both of Junction City, Rita (Don Johnson) Arnold of Georgetown and Teresa (Sean Lane) Preston of Danville; a son, Dale Preston of Junction City; two sisters, Judy (Bill) Williams of Junction City and Elizabeth (Lawrence) Hillard of Mercer County; a brother, Willis (Stephanie) Preston Jr. of Junction City; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A brother, Dewey Lee (Mary) Preston, and a sister, Betty Jean Preston Hammonds, preceded him in death.

 The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. The Rev. Keith Weldon and the Rev. Dennis Hisle will officiate. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.  

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.  

Memorial donations are suggested to Parksville Baptist Church building fund.
