Prep Basketball: Boyle County, Mercer County boys lose
The visiting Pulaski County boys took control in the first quarter and never let up to score a 72-54 win over Boyle County on Monday.
Michael Arnett scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Rebels (10-4), going 6 for 10 from the floor and 12 for 12 at the free throw line. Micah Satterly added 14 points and Will Dunn had five points and seven boards.

It was a 9-all game before Pulaski (11-3) took the lead for good, taking a 36-23 at the half. The closest Boyle got from there was eight points.
The Rebels were 17 of 45 shooting, missing all six 3-point attempts and going 20 of 26 at the line. They had 20 turnovers which led to 29 Pulaski points.
The Maroons were led by Taylor Gover’s 33 points. He was 11 of 20 from the field, 4 for 6 from 3-point range and 7 of 10 at the line. Kody Johnson added 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds to give Pulaski a 31-30 edge on the glass.
Pulaski finished 25 of 51 from the field and hit 18 of 27 free throws.
Madison Central 88, Mercer County 78 — At Richmond, the Indians went 14 for 17 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to help seal the win over visiting Mercer.
Clay Cinnamon (nine points) and Aaron Lee (seven points) each fouled out in the third quarter in a foul-filled game which saw the teams shoot a combined 71 free throws. Madison Central was 30 of 38, while Mercer was just 20 of 33.
Austin Sagraves hit four 3-pointers and scored 19 of his 20 points in the second half for Mercer (8-6). Matthew Honchel scored 22 points and Colin Buckner added 10 off the bench.
Mercer led 14-10 after the first quarter, but the Indians surged ahead for a 35-29 halftime lead. Mercer cut the lead to 58-55 after three quarters.
