American racecar driver Landon Cassill was born on July 7, 1989, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He began racing in a quad at age 3 before moving to go-karts. At 10, he finished second in the Pro Kart Tour at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He's won four International Kart Federation championships, some on dirt and some on asphalt. In 2000, he competed in three different classes, two karting and a midget class, winning all three state championships on the same night. He won four more state championships the following year. American racecar driver Landon Cassill was born on July 7, 1989, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He began racing in a quad at age 3 before moving to go-karts. At 10, he finished second in the Pro Kart Tour at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He's won four International Kart Federation championships, some on dirt and some on asphalt. In 2000, he competed in three different classes, two karting and a midget class, winning all three state championships on the same night. He won four more state championships the following year. He became the youngest winner in American Speed Association Late Model Series history when he won at Lake Erie Speedway in 2006, but was surpassed in 2010 by Erik Jones. Cassill won his second ASALMS race, this time in the Southern Division at South Georgia Motorsports Park, making him the first driver to win in both Northern and Southern divisions. He went on to win his first Challenge Division at I-70 Speedway, becoming the first driver to win in all three divisions. He joined NASCAR in 2007. He made his Nationwide Series debut at Gateway International Speedway in 2007 after turning 18 (a NASCAR national series requirement). In 2008, he won the Rookie of the Year award after claiming 5 top-ten finishes in 19 total races. 2011 is Cassill's first full season, excluding the Daytona 500.
