Pictures: What's in Hilary Phelps' bag?
Hilary Phelps has done her fair share of trekking across the globe in support of her younger brother, Michael. Over the years, she's mastered the art of packing for maximum impact. "I tend to wear colors that mix and match well," she explains. "Accessories like big necklaces are key." As she prepared for her Olympics-bound voyage to fashionable London, the founder of the lifestyles website Genuine Joy shared some of the go-to items she planned to squeeze into her two Tommy Bahama suitcases for her 11-day trip.

Ralph Lauren red polo
"Ralph Lauren and the Polo pony have become an icon across the globe. Whether their Purple Label, Black Label or RRL, it all started with the polo shirt. With the brand's more recent affiliation with the [U.S. Olympic Committee], this polo is as appropriate as it is comfortable." Calvin Klein nude wedges "When you have to be in heels for hours on end, the little things can make a big difference. This wedge provides comfort and stability, while the nude color lengthens the look of the leg. Jennifer Aniston may have pioneered this look, but today it's a little trick that every girl should use." Michael Kors sunglasses "These are big without being clunky and fashionable without playing to fads. I think these frames are both classy and classic and are great on the go." J. Crew printed pants "London is the home of the Mod movement, and in many ways I think these hearken back to those days, but in an updated, stylish way." |
