3D archery shoot
JENNERSTOWN — Jenner Community Sportsmen Association is holding a 3D archery shoot on Saturday and Sunday at the club grounds located off Klines Mill Road just outside of Jennerstown.

Berlin 10, Jerome 4
JEROME — Berlin defeated Jerome 10-4 Friday in Junior Legion baseball.
Winning pitcher Zach Cooney struck out six batters. Dustin Coughenour, Braden Fotchman, Steve Lotinsky and Jimmy Mort had two hits apiece.
Stephen Carl smacked a home run for Jerome. Bob Robbi was the losing pitcher.
Jerome 8, Trust 4
SOMERSET — In a continuation of a game started on May 31, Jerome pulled off an upset win over Somerset Trust, 8-4, in Junior Legion baseball.
Mickey Sanders and David Yoder scattered six hits and only allowed four runs. Jeff Callihan paced Jerome at the plate with a two-run double while Zack Svencer had two hits. Sanders reached base all four at bats and had five stolen bases.
Josh Sube and Matt Heiple each had two hits for Somerset Trust.
Kiwanis 8, FOE 2
SOMERSET — The Kiwanis upended FOE 8-2 in the first game of a Somerset Little League best-of-three championship series Monday.
Kiwanis was led by a strong pitching effort by Nate Higham who had four strikeouts. Logan Higham pitched to the last two batters to end the game.
Kiwanis bats were led by Christian Pacifico with a home run and two doubles, Tyler Sherbine hit three singles, Logan Higham had a home run, Peyton Marteeny had two singles and Brady Chabol singled.
FOE pitchers Carter Geary and Conner Beachy combined for nine strikeouts. Georgie Coyle led FOE with three singles while teammates Avery Heiple, Nash Frazier, Conner Beachy and Jake Swauger all contributed singles.
The second game of the championship series will be 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Central City tops Meyersdale
MEYERSDALE — Central City I smashed out 29 hits to defeat Meyersdale 34-15 in a Laurel Highlands Junior League softball game Monday.
Lexi Meck and Kaily Karl combined for the pitching win.
Meyersdale had nine hits.
Bandits win, 15-5
SOMERSET — Karlie Kemp allowed one earned run while scattering nine hits with four strikeouts to help the Turkeyfoot Bandits defeat Somerset 15-5 in a Junior League softball game Monday.
Kemp also hit a two-run single in a game that ended after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Bandits’ Cassandra Kemp contributed two hits, three RBIs and three runs scored. Kellie Kinsinger hit a two-run double. Danielle Kemp had two hits, one RBI and three runs scored. Kailee Tressler added an RBI single and Emily Lowery singled and drove in two runs.
Somerset’s Hope Brock, Jaleen Martin and Allie Taylor had two hits each while Zoee Purbaugh and Julianne Martin each singled.
