U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, R-Westmoreland, announced Friday that his Yorktown office has moved to the historic Somerwell House.
The 300-year-old Somerwell House is located at 401 Main St. in Yorktown.
“I am proud to represent America’s First District, an area filled with rich history and people who care about the story of our nation,” Wittman said. “As our nation faces challenges today and in the future, I am hopeful that residents of the First District will reach out to me at the new office location, whether they need assistance with federal agencies or simply want to express their thoughts and ideas on the policies they’d like to see coming from Washington. It is fitting that the people of the Hampton Roads region should have a federal government resource in the Somerwell House, which has witnessed the changing tides of American history from the Battle of Yorktown in 1781 through the Civil War and to the present day.”
