To the surprise of no one, Grafton High's Olivia Wilson has been selected to the Bay Rivers District Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Wilson led the Clippers to an 18-0 district record by averaging 21.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
Grafton's Tommy Bayse was selected the district Coach of the Year. Joining Wilson on the all-district first team were Grafton's Hannah Olson (12.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 5.1 assists, 4.2 steals), Smithfield's Jackie Jordan (11.8 ppg, 13.5 rpg), Poquoson's Sydney Turner (12.2 ppg, 7.2 rpg), Jamestown's Aaliyah Lyttle (15.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 4.0 steals, 5.0 assists), Grafton's Emily Beyer (11.6 ppg) and Tabb's Brooke Mahan (11.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg).
