  15. Ronald Eugene Werner, 70, of Meyersdale

    Ronald Eugene Werner, 70, of Meyersdale, entered heaven's gates on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 after a very short but courageous fight with cancer. Born Oct. 19, 1942 in Pocohontas, the son of the late Merle E. and Eleanor (Bolden) Werner. He was a 1961 graduate of Meyersdale Area High School. After graduation he was employed by H.G. Bender Implement Co., Meyersdale. He was employed for 34 years as a service technician for Sears, Roebuck and Co. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. After he retired from Sears, he became the plant operations manager at Rest Assured Living Center, Meyersdale. He enjoyed his job and even enjoyed the daily contact with the wonderful residents and staff at Rest Assured. Ronnie greatly enjoyed the companionship of Rest Assured's dog, "Reno." "Reno" spent a lot of time following him wherever he went.&nbsp;Ronnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol (Meyers) and beloved dog "Hunter." Carol and Ronnie were inseparable going everywhere and doing everything together. He was the proud father of beloved sons: Todd Werner, and Michael Werner and his wife Ida (Faidley), and his one and only beloved grandson, Matthew Werner, all of Frostburg, Md. He is also survived by brothers: Wayne Werner and wife, Darlene and Larry Werner and wife Mary Jane; sister-in-law: Sandra Henry; brother-in-law: Earl E. Meyers Jr. and wife Hope. Also survived by his aunt, Sylva Baer, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Ronnie also enjoyed wood working. Everyone enjoyed his birdhouses, rocking horses, carousel horses and furniture. He also loved working with his son, Mike and his family doing the firewood business, including splitting wood and running tractors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday. Pastor Tom Horner officiating. Interment will follow at Finzel Cemetery, Frostburg, Md. The family would like to thank the Meyersdale and Salisbury ambulance companies, Meyersdale Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Johnstown, and the Eastern Garrett Co.
