  2. Extreme Weather Of 2011: Irene

When the wind died and the rain stopped and you became acclimated to the smell of shredded vegetation, life in eastern Connecticut after Tropical Storm Irene looked as if it could be borne.

  10. Fire CL&P Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Butler?

As nearly a million CL&P customers spent part or all of last week shivering in the dark, and some still are without power, anger has focused on CL&P President Jeffrey Butler. Many blame him for what they perceive as a slow and poorly coordinated response to the massive outage. He hurt his own case by trying to say the severity of the storm was unexpected, when it was pretty much what meteorologists were calling for. Town officials are ripped at what they say is poor communication from the company. But given the severity and timing of the storm, and the state's heavy tree cover, can he reasonably be blamed? The trucks and crews have been out working, the power is coming back. What's your view? Talk about it!
