  5. Man Arrested After Using Counterfeit Cash in Cumberland County

    A Cumberland County man is facing criminal charges after police say he attempted to pass several counterfeit bills in Carlisle. Jon Herdman, 34, of Mechanicsburg tried to purchase items with the fake money at the Rite Aid on South Hanover Street on Monday afternoon. An employee at the store called police after becoming suspicious of the cash. When officers arrived at the store they questioned Herdman and he handed over 28 counterfeit bills along with a baggie of heroin and syringes.
