  1. Movie Review: The Adventures of Tintin

"The Adventures of Tintin" is the latest film from director Steven Spielberg and is an adaptation of a very popular comic-book series.  This is a return to the family action genre for Spielberg with his last film being the ever not-so-popular "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".  We all know Spielberg from such classics as Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, the Indiana Jones series and many, many more influential films.  That said, this is the first animated feature that he has directed.  The film was shot digitally and uses motion capture animation which was made popular in such films as The Polar Express and Avatar.

  15. 'Land of the Lost'

Like him or not (I like him), Will Ferrell remains at the mercy of his material. Is it sheer luck that "Blades of Glory" was so much funnier than "Semi-Pro"? No. Luck had nothing to do with it. "Blades of Glory" had jokes, pacing, dryly assured...

  17. Dark Passages: Manly adventures with Gabriel Hunt

One need not list example after example of bad news dominating the headlines of late, but the desire for escapism has never seemed stronger. Economic woes and the success of genre fiction, time and time again, are directly correlated, which explains why romance novels are booming, why vampires and other supernatural beings have permeated American culture, and why big commercial fiction titles by Richard Russo, Thomas Pynchon, Pat Conroy and Stieg Larsson have ridden high on the bestseller lists in August.
