Has there been a Connecticut production with more productions than Hartford Stage's holiday presentation of "A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story iof Christmas?" I can't think of any. (Can you?)
It's 15th annual production returns tothe Church Street theater Nov. 23 to Dec. 29 with most of the familiar faces -- and several new ones.
The show has logged in more than 600 perfoprmances and has been seen by more than 287,000 theatergoers since it began in 1998, the first year Michael Wilson took over as artistic director at the theater. (It's his adaptation, and he directed the original which other stagings have been based.)
Wilson has moved on to New york and other venues, but the tradition lives on, once again led for the 13th go-round by Bill Raymond as Scrooge. (Check his performance out in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln."
Maxwell Williams, associate artistic director of the theater, oversees the production.
Gustave Johnson returns to play Scrooge for the student matinee performances.
Featured in the cast are: Curtis Billings (Fred, Young Scrooge), Robert Hannon Davis (Bob Cratchit), Rebecca Jones (Mrs. Fezziwig, Mrs. Cratchit), Sarah Killough (Wendy, Fred's Sister-in-law, Begger Woman), Johanna Morrison (Bettye Pidgeon, Spirit of Christmas Past, Old Josie), Michael Preston (Mr. Marvel), Alan Rust (Bert, Mr. Fezziwig, Spirit of Christmas Present), Noble Shropshire (Mrs. Dilber, Jacob Marley), Charlie Tirrell (First Solicitor, undertaker) and Gillian Williams (Fred's Wife, Belle).
