Col. James Arthur "Jim" Kesselring, 76, of Williamsport, Md., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at his home.
Born July 27, 1936, in Hagerstown, Md., to the late James Webster and Pauline Estelle Brown Kesselring.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ellen Imogene Armstrong Kesselring.
He was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, the Army National Guard and retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Army in 1996.
Jim was employed by Fairchild Industries, Rohr Industries, both of Hagerstown, and Garrett Container Systems in Deep Creek, Md., retiring in 2010.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.
Jim was involved in many civic organizations.
He was a devoted husband, loving father and friend to many.
Survivors include daughter, Kristy Kesselring Bowers and her husband, Randy, of Boonsboro, Md., daughter, Korby Kesselring Moss Sanders and her husband, David, of Williamsport; son, Kyle James Kesselring and his wife, Wendy, of Oak Ridge, N.C., son, Kasey Charles Kesselring and his wife, Maureen, of Montverde, Fla.; brother, Willis Wayne Kesselring and his wife, Carolyn, of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. A private burial will be held with military honors provided by Amvets Post 10 and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.
