Healthy sportsman fair slated for Sept. 30
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — The Fulton County (Pa.) Medical Center is hosting its annual healthy sportsman fair Sunday, Sept. 30, from noon to 4 p.m. at the medical center campus.
This year’s sportsmen will get a chance to win an American Ruger rifle with choice of caliber .30-06, .270, .308, or .243 sponsored by McLaughlin’s Drug Store, according to a news release.
The grand prize draws many enthusiasts to take part in the health screenings to prepare them for the hunting season, the news release stated.
New to the health fair this year, Backcountry Bad Boys will be providing free pork sandwiches from a wild boar hunt they filmed for the event, the news release stated.
Local health agencies will provide screenings, including infection control, cholesterol and glucose, pulse ox, carbon monoxide monitoring, body mass index, osteoporosis, blood pressure, vision, EKG and hearing.
The carotid artery screening is the only one for which scheduling is required. Those interested in the screening who did not complete one last year may call 717-485-6107 and press zero. Call between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to make an appointment.
