These kids are at Oak Forest Park learning the triathlon tricks of the trade, but it`s not just trimming time that gets the instructor Ben and these kids excited.
“Getting outside and getting some good exercise in, that's our main motivation is to get kids out and secondly is to introduce a sport to them that many of them don't know about,” said Founder and Owner Ben Proko. “We get all range of all sorts of kids, all the way from 8 years to 13 years old.”
And ranges don`t stop at age. This camp caters to skill set and personal goals.
“It's nice to find something that everyone can be good at, especially with a triathlon, everyone has something they're a little bit better at, some are better swimmers, some are better bikers, some are better runners and they can excel on that and feel good about that but then also always have something to work at,” said Proko.
But getting your heart pumping, that`s the number one goal.
“The investment in health trumps all the skill they get here because once you create a healthy lifestyle, it creates a standard of living,” said Proko.
