Bandy, a former Placentia resident, was arrested Saturday in an unrelated report of soliciting prostitution.

It was later determined he was also wanted in connection with the attempted molestation of a 13-year-old girl.

According to police, the girl and her mother were walking in the 1300 block of East Wilshire Avenue on Aug. 24 when Bandy allegedly drove up alongside and offered the mother money in exchange for having the daughter perform a sex act.

Police said the mother and daughter ignored the man and attempted to walk away, but Bandy followed in his car and continued to increase his offer of money.

When the mother told the man to quit bothering them and walked in an opposite direction, the man drove away.

The mother copied the license-plate number and called police.

Bandy is believed to have been frequenting motels in north Orange County.
