It seemed like an odd commitment at the time, but amid all the turmoil that went on this past summer at USC, Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson linebacker Kent Turene was unfazed. He committed to the Trojans and was quite sure of himself at the time.
Now however, it seems the 6-foot-3, 230-pound Kent Turene might be waffling a bit. He's in Athens, Ga., today to check out the Bulldogs and some Internet rumbling on Saturday morning has stirred up rumors that Turene has switched to Georgia.
Reached via text message Saturday afternoon about 1 p.m., Turene's reply to a text asking if he could confirm the decommitment said simply, "No."
So for now, the Under Armour All-American, who visited Southern Cal last weekend, is still with the Mighty Trojans.
Stay tuned, with just 10 days until National Signing Day (Feb. 2), what looked like might turn out to be an uneventful run up to the big day is turning out to be just the opposite.
